I was just chastised by a white, self-identified feminist that 'rape is never to be mentioned anywhere. it's rape culture.' not that it's a big desire of mine to do so, but what kind of nonsense is this? such a blanket statement. every person who has been raped -- no matter their gender or race -- is DIFFERENT. some folks don't ever want you to say anything about their abusive past. some don't mind.
I myself had a near-death brain hemorrhage which has traumatized me for the rest of my life and suffered painful racism. but in my memoir, i call myself a dirty dothead. and in a radio promo, the interviewer thought he was funny and started singing 'if i only had a brain' from wizard of oz! i was surprised, but i laughed along. I've been through a lot, but I never mind if someone jokes about it. if you're triggered by somethjng, leave the room. never got that issue.
chris rock jokes about everything, and his race ones can cut to to the bone. but they teach more than any book can. ps. what's up with the white feminists harping about 'white privilege? What color do they think they are themselves? anyway, the fact is: EACH PERSON IS DIFFERENT. is this what's called the new wave of feminism?
